inshore fishing report for may12th and 14th 2009

May 14, 2009

on the 12th we dodged a few thunder heads but stayed out and produced a nice bag of specks and redfish.

paula holding a nice 4.5 lb redfish for redfish on the half shell. we ended the day with 20 specks 1 redfish and a few forked tail friends.

today the 14th me and Doc hit the water and found the speck bite to be steady. we boated 25 specks…biggest 20"es…6 BIG bluefish all caught on DOA’s and popping corks.

later today met up with huan and found the speck bite to still be steady as well as the bluefish and ladyfish. we boated about 12 specks and plenty of forked tail friends. here is huan with one of the BIG bluefish…

may 7th 10th and 11th 2009

we got some great weather to fish the last couple of days so my anglers took advantage.

on the 7th we targeted specks with great success. steve here with a nice 3lb speck caught on a chug bug. we caught 25 plus specks.

on the 10th i had the pleasure to be with hallie and her family. this was her mothersday present and she took advantage of the day bagging plenty of specks.

today i had a double of davids on board. here is david holding up one of several nice redfish caught on topwater in the middle of the day.

we ended the day with a nice stringer of fish that made an inshore slam. we had 2 flounders 20 specks and 7 redfish.

speck fishing report for may 5th 2009

we had a 10 mph SW wind this morning. rain seem to be in town and the specks were biting really good for a neap tide!

lures used were DOA’s and popping cork with 1/4 soft body bait attached.

tyler had a great day today…he landed 10 specks himself.

fishing report for may 2nd 2009

May 3, 2009

the morning started out just a little breeze but not to hard from the WSW. we hit the flats in santa rosa sound armed with chugbugs and DOA’s. it did not take long and we were putting fish in the boat.

allen with a nice bluefish…

we ended the morning with a dozen nice specks and a mixed bag of forked tail fish.

noon time found the wind breezy out of the south so we found some patchy grass beds and hoped for the best.

our second drift produced this nice 4lb fish…

the next drift produce a 3.5lb speck…

wind never stopped but we managed a few more specks and a couple of spanish.

it was a great saturday to be on the water.
