october 25th 2008 a day in the RED!

October 26, 2008

well after catching 30 plus trout and 20 flounder we took a phone call from my brother that there were a few reds on the beach west of the pass. when we got there we saw a nice school of about 100 fish exploding on the top. all three anglers got hooked up as soon as the 2 oz jig heads with berkley gulp hit the water. above is joe with a nice 21lb red.

here is buddy with a 16 lb fish.

barry finshed with a 14 lb red. we ended the day here with plenty of fish caught on a neap tide.

after dropping off my first crew of anglers i was met by my second crew and all they wanted was to fish…if they caught something great but the fishing was more important. we headed back to the beach. when we arrived we saw now explosions on top nor birds diving. we just started casting and with in a half dozen casts BAM fish on.

justion fighting and boating a nice 19lb redfish…his biggest fish ever caught!

october 24th 2008 flounder redfish trout

October 25, 2008

our first stop was at my favorite trout hole…wind was howling and could not get my anchor to hold. DiDi was not going to sit and wait so she started casting and did not take long and she had a couple of nice trout in the boat…

we decided to head to a flounder hole and i was able to get my anchor to hold and DiDi started catching grouper and flounder…

finally harlan got into the action with his first flounder…

we caught a dozen and moved on to the pass for some redfish. S25 over board and we were trolling. after about an hour i spotted birds in front of the boat and a few big explosions on top…O yeah redfish…as soon as the S25 cross into the school…BAM fish on. Harlan here with a nice 17lb redfish…

we ran back to make our last pass by and DiDi was really wanting to catch a redfish…well…BAM fish on…

what away to end the day!

October 21st 2008 lets catch fish

October 21, 2008

Once again alittle chilly but once the first cast was made and four fish caught we forgot all about the cold air.

Here is Nolan…levy and dad with three trout caught on the first cast!

We never could get the baits to the bottom before you had a fish on. We used ½ oz jig heads with a 3 inch Berkley gulp. We boated 40 plus fish.

Here is levy and mom with a couple of nice flounder.

We scratched the bottom pretty good and produced 9 flounder. We used the same lures as above.

Dad wanted a bull redfish so we set out a S25 and trolled the pass. It did not take long and dad was bowed up with this nice redfish.

We ended a beautiful day on the water with a really nice mess of fish to eat!

October 17, 2008

jimmy, nikki and myself awoke to a beautiful day with red skies in the east…red skies in the morning sailors take warning…well that was not to be for us this beautiful morning.

we tied on some 1 oz jig heads with softbody baits tipped with berkley gulp. hit a couple of my flounder holes and were treated with a dozen flounder.

both nikki and jimmy bagged a couple of nice flounders here.

when the bite slowed up we decided to head over to the flats to see if the speck bite was still on. we were using popping corks and 1/8 oz jig heads. we caught about a dozen or so from 1030am to noon.

nikki with her best ever speck!
