august 8th a bluebird day!

August 8, 2007

The morning was already hot at 80 degrees and the sun had not even come up. No wind at all. The bay was slick as we glided over the water way headed to my favorite bluefish hole.

we were casting my favorite again…the chug bug!

As i was explaining how to work the bug across the water Michael quickly connected into a nice 2 lb bluefish…

Well it did not take long and everybody was catching bluefish…

The heat started to get to us all and we stopped by to see if anymore gators were lurking around. Becky found a gator want to be and we ended the day there…

A wonderful day with a great crew of anglers.

Our final stringer count…

10 bluefish kept with many thrown back

1 speck released to fight another day

Until our next fishing adventure…tight lines!

God Bless

august 8th 2007 gator trout

Launched out of Bill Dixon boat launch. This is a really nice launch. We had a NW wind blowing about 10mph. We were rigged with…

my favorite topwater lure a chugbug rigged with a 25lb floracarbon leader to keep the bluefish from cutting off.

We hit the barrier island and start casting and quickly both Rob and Lori are bowed up with nice fish.

Here is the first catches of the day…

After catching plenty of these bluefish with a couple of small specks we decided to go in search of a gator trout.

Lori quickly found a nice speck on a mirrolure with red and white color…

It was Rob’s birthday and he was given a GREAT present…

26 inches and 5 lbs plus…awesome!!!!!

Until another great fishing adventure with capt wes…tight lines!

God Bless
