fishing pensacola inshore report for dec 22nd to 29th 2011 with capt wes rozier

December 30, 2011

The weather has been up and down with rain cold air and wind with a few warm sunshine days.

The fishing has been off the charts!!!!

Over the last several weeks I have experienced some of the best speck fishing in the last 10 years!

Every trip my anglers have boated on average 75 fish.

The white trout, red fish and flounder have also been very steady as well.

Lure…52m mirrolure…1/4 oz jig with a berkley gulp new penny.

Retrieve…slow with lite twitches of the rod tip.

Area…mouths of the rivers including the shallow flats on either side.
All bayous looking for points piers and any deep holes you can find.
Major bridges.

Pensacola Fishing Inshore report for Jun 18th to Jun 28th with Capt Wes Rozier

June 28, 2011
seems like we captains were posting to many informational fishing reports so this will cover 11 days instead 7 days or less.

As always I hope these reports for some will give valuable info to make you a better angler…for some just a smile and a dream of fishing real soon and others to help plan your future trip knowing what you will target.

Any time you need a question answered, how to fish or work a certain lure or need some intel on where to fish you have my phone number…please give me a call.

I would like to thank everybody on PFF for all the kind words you have said to me or about me and my family over the years. I would like to thank all those who have booked fishing trips with me and those who have referred my name to another angler who booked a trip.

This year alone I have had the pleasure of fishing with 9 different anglers from this forum (including those who view as a guest) and the 6 referrals!

Pensacola fishing report for April 14th to April 22nd 2011 with Capt Wes Rozier

April 22, 2011

Hello anglers!

The last 9 days have been some hot fishing even when the wind has blown.

Spanish, inside the bay, early in the morning, flats, topwater lure, and a Uni to uni knot 50 lb fluorocarbon leader.

Speckled trout, grass flats, mud flats in the upper bay areas, live baits,  topwater lure, or soft body baits.

Flounder, pass, the upper bay flats, ¼ oz jig with a new penny gulp. When I fish the pass I am using a 3 oz slip sinker 6 to 8 inch fluorocarbon 12 to 14 lb leader and a #2 circle hook. Bull minnows are the best baits.

Red fish, gold spoon, piers, flats incoming full tide to full tide out going.

Pompano, along the beach, SE wind, full tide going out and pink pompano jigs.

Go get um!

pensacola fishing report for april 1st to april 11th

April 13, 2011

the beginning of april has been very good for catching fish even though we had to fight the FOG!!!!

we caught plenty of sheep head using 3 oz slip sinkers with 15lb leaders and #2 circle hooks using live shrimp. we fished the pass and the ledge in front of the light house. the spawn is almost over.

we caught plenty of 14 inch specks using a chug bug, 7m mirrolure and DOA’s fishing over the grass flats in the sound.

redfish are still working the beach in the gulf. if you do not see them on the beach move out to the outer sand bar and look for them there. 1 oz jigs with hair or gulp work well.

spanish have gone crazy over top water plugs fished on the edges of the grass flats in the sound. fish up to 6lbs! make sure you have a 50 lb leader so you do not get cut off.

pompano showing up now. sand fleas or jig with short hair. orange and pink have been the death of the fish we caught the other day. 7 quality fish landed.

do not be surprised when you have a squid attack your top water plugs. they are everywhere.
