Dove hunters please read november 19th 2009

went back out to walnut hill where we shot dove on monday. there is about 50 plus doves on the field…not enough to shoot!

did find across the street about 150 plus birds. i found out who owns the land and he pointed me to the farmer who is using the land…when i speak with him i hope we can shoot his field.

 

NO hunt this weekend unless something changes….70% chance of rain as well!

july 22nd and 23rd fishing report for 2009

yesterday morning was very nice with a lite wind from the wsw. the bite was hot. top water 7m mirrolure in any color seemed to work. we caught a mixed bag of specks (15), bluefish (10), spanish (1), ladyfish ( lost count) and flounder (3)

today the weather again very nice with a sw wind. the day started out with a bluefish on every cast…then a short redfish. we left to get out of the bluefish and found the speck bite to be hot.

when george got on the boat he said he was just here for the ride…yeah right! when the fish started coming over the gunnel he picked up a rod real quick. this fish tipped the scale at 6.25 lbs…

lou has been coming down here for years trying to fish with little to no success. today he and his crew caught plenty of specks and blue fish all on artificials. look out tackle shops…here comes lou…

k this high pressure system has been nice but hey we need some rain and a little low pressure sometimes too!

the fishing has really been fading due to the high that has been over us but quickly improved once we got two afternoons of some really heavy rain.

i had mark last week with flyrod wanting to hook up on some saltwater fish. did not take mark long and he was boating specks and spanish.

is this what they mean when they say spanish fly?

yesterday i had bill who loves to bass fish using a chug bug to catch this nice speck…

we caught blue fish specks lady fish and pompano.

i met up with andrew around 11 am that day. we worked topwater and ended up catching about 20 specks up to 2 pm. here is andrew with a nice 2.5lb speck caught around 130pm. who said top water was only an early morning technique…

today the speck bite was HOT. south wind and 2 feet of water and plenty of explosions. bob and cici put 25 specks in the boat…we kept 9 for a nice fish fry this weekend…

WOW…another three days of beautiful weather! i will say it would not hurt to get a low pressure system through here for a couple of days with some rain to cool the water temp down.

the fishing is real good until about 830am and then it really starts to shut down.

ok…we have steven here with a nice BIG spanish caught on top water…

the weather has been great and the fishing has too!

we caught a good number of smaller specks but our stringer was loaded up with blues.

meet up with brad in the afternoon and the topwater speck fishing turned on. brad with his first redfish.

karl wanted to catch some flounders. the tide was not good for the time we had to go but did turn at the end and we quickly caught three. i went back and found 6 more for a fry…

curt and his crew came from destin to fish with me. lots of small specks and plenty of nice forked tail critters…

today i was with marty again and early we found quality fish bitting. we caught several 21" fish and several nice redfish. the bite did not last long. we also saw a nice 5 to 6 foot bull shark in 3 feet of water. you waders be very careful!

inshore fishing report for may12th and 14th 2009

on the 12th we dodged a few thunder heads but stayed out and produced a nice bag of specks and redfish.

paula holding a nice 4.5 lb redfish for redfish on the half shell. we ended the day with 20 specks 1 redfish and a few forked tail friends.

today the 14th me and Doc hit the water and found the speck bite to be steady. we boated 25 specks…biggest 20"es…6 BIG bluefish all caught on DOA’s and popping corks.

later today met up with huan and found the speck bite to still be steady as well as the bluefish and ladyfish. we boated about 12 specks and plenty of forked tail friends. here is huan with one of the BIG bluefish…

we got some great weather to fish the last couple of days so my anglers took advantage.

on the 7th we targeted specks with great success. steve here with a nice 3lb speck caught on a chug bug. we caught 25 plus specks.

on the 10th i had the pleasure to be with hallie and her family. this was her mothersday present and she took advantage of the day bagging plenty of specks.

today i had a double of davids on board. here is david holding up one of several nice redfish caught on topwater in the middle of the day.

we ended the day with a nice stringer of fish that made an inshore slam. we had 2 flounders 20 specks and 7 redfish.
